Juliette Lewis & The Licks

Juliette Lewis & The Licks: Aidin Vaziri | The Juliette & the Licks live show is an appropriately physical experience. It starts with Lewis coming out on stage, shouting something completely indecipherable and then launching into this weird sort-of-robot- like dance. Slowly, she becomes more animated as the music -- part Billy Idol, part Pat Benatar -- gets louder. She does Special Olympics-caliber gymnastics, declares herself crazy and eventually drops the names of all the movies she's appeared in. She is still taking on small roles, most recently in things like "Starsky & Hutch" and "Cold Creek Manor," but at the moment the only thing Lewis wants to think about is her music -- even if the rock careers of fellow actors like Keanu Reeves and Gina Gershon look like big flashing yellow lights that shriek, DO NOT ENTER! "This is what I'm absolutely hungry for right now and I want to see it through," she says. "I've worked my ass off to make this happen for the past year. I'm all about using your limitations to work for you."
